Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS)

The 3 Warrior Rs: Respectful, Responsible, and Ready!

Welcome! Needwood Middle School is a PBIS school, where we seek to identify and recognize students for the POSITIVE behaviors they exhibit! By rewarding positive behaviors and by explicitly teaching our students how to engage in these behaviors, we will foster a positive and safe learning environment. We are excited to have such a dedicated and positive staff as we know they will provide excellent role models throughout the school year!

PBIS is a school-wide system that provides clear expectations for behaviors and consistent consequences for inappropriate behaviors across all classrooms and across all school settings. Needwood Middle School uses the Warrior Pride Matrix and the 3 Warrior Rs to identify the kinds of behaviors we expect from students in all settings.

Where can I learn more about PBIS? Parents, students, and community may contact the GCS PBIS Facilitator (Amy Yacobacci), Needwood’s PBIS coach (Ms. Taylor). The website http://www.pbis.org/ is also a great PBIS resource! Look for other information in our NMS newsletters, which are sent home with progress reports and report cards each term.
