Approved 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 School Year Calendars

At the Regular Board meeting on Tuesday, June 11, the Glynn County Board of Education unanimously voted to approve the proposed school calendars for 2025-2026 and 2026-2027.

In the 2025-2026 calendar, the school system will have 178 instructional days for students – 89 days for the first and second semesters. Conversely, the 2026-2027 calendar will have 179 instructional days for students – 88 days first semester and 91 second semester. These schedules provide more options for teacher workdays and professional development.

The 2025-2026 school year will begin on the first Wednesday – or August 6, 2025 – and the 2026-2027 school year will resume on August 6, 2026, which is the first Thursday of that month.
The 2025-2026 calendar provides short breaks in October, November, February and March. Dates identified for these reasons include October 13, 2025; November 10-11, 2025; February 16, 2026; and March 16, 2026. Mirroring this calendar, short breaks in 2026-2027 are scheduled for October 12-13, 2026; February 15-16, 2027; and March 15, 2027.

Full-week breaks in November (Thanksgiving holiday) and April (Spring Break) will remain. Our normal Christmas break schedule will also continue unchanged – Dec. 22, 2025 through Jan. 6, 2026; and Dec. 21, 2026 through January 6, 2027.
School will conclude on May 21, 2026 for the 2025-2026 school year, and May 26, 2027 in the 2026-2027 calendar.

These now-approved calendars represent the suggestions, revisions, and consensus of the School Year Calendar Committee comprised of parents, teachers, school and district administrators, and community members. At the request of the Glynn County Board of Education, we collaborate with our calendar committee to create calendars two years in advance.
