April is Autism Awareness Month

April is Autism Awareness month.  Across the world, April 2nd is recognized as Autism Awareness day.  The world recognizes this by a day to “Light It Up Blue”.  On Fridays throughout the month of April, we will be wearing Blue to show our support of children and adults in our community living with autism.

Autism is a developmental disorder that affects the way neuro pathways in your brain are connected.  It is a very unique disorder that looks differently for everyone.  This month is about being compassionate towards others and we hope to see many of our Needwood Warriors participating by either wearing blue, sharing a story, or improving their knowledge of autism and how it affects our world and community.

There will be Needwood Middle School shirts on sale in support of Autism Awareness month for $12.  Order your shirt below or see Mrs. Goodman in room 703 if you are interested in purchasing a shirt.  Thank you!
