Analyze the significance of the Loyalists and Patriots as a part of Georgia’s role in the Revolutionary War. Analyze the role of Georgia in the American Revolution. Explain what Henry Knox did to help the Patriots win the Siege of Boston. Analyze the role of Georgia in the American Revolution. Success Criteria I can list the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation, describe the constitutional convention, and explain how those weaknesses were addressed in the new federal Constitution. I can explain why historians would want to honor the achievements of Henry Knox, and other Revolutionary War heroes. I can explain the causes of the American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence, the roles of loyalists and patriots in the Siege of Savannah and Battle of Kettle Creek, and I can explain how the weaknesses in the Articles of Confederation led to the Constitution of the USA. Activity or Assignment with Text/Links The students will spend 2 days working to complete an interactive activity (find this in Google Classroom) that will lead them through discovering our country’s first government and analyzing the reasons it failed. They will continue (day2) on to discover how a meeting to correct the issues led to an entirely different form of government. The activity will be completed using chromebooks. We will discuss and complete yesterday’s review activity in preparation of today’s quiz.They will use the teacher notes to complete a review worksheet. Students will then use a Kahoot! To further prepare for the quiz! Start today with a quiz over Patriots/Loyalists/ Articles of Confederation/ Constitution. Students will then complete a quiz analysis sheet to review for Friday’s test! After that, they will complete a Kahoot or Gimkit activity to practice for the test. If time remains, they may use their notes to quiz each other. Students will complete the five parts (Ready, Read, Respond, Reflect, and Write) of the following Achieve 3000 article: “Age of Revolution: Where Heroes Walked.” Students will complete a review activity in preparation for tomorrow’s quiz. They will use the teacher notes to complete a review worksheet. The students will take a test over the American Revolution. After the test, they may prepare for tomorrow’s Common District Assessment.
