Students will analyze the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation and explain how those weaknesses led to the writing of a new federal Constitution. Success Criteria I know that I have it when I can explain how the French and Indian War, Proclamation of 1763, and the Stamp Act impacted Georgia. I can interpret the three parts of the Declaration of Independence (preamble, grievances, and declaration) and identify the three Georgia signers of the document. Activity or Assignment with Text/Links The teacher will use a slide presentation to teach the material. Students will have a worksheet to complete. After the content has been delivered, the students will use the worksheet to fill-in a chart. The teacher will use a slide presentation to teach the material. Students will have a notes activity. After the content has been delivered, the students will write a “breakup letter” to King George III. Give students a few minutes to finish their “breakup letter” from yesterday. After that, they will complete a review activity (Gimkit). The last 20 minutes of class will be used to take a quiz over SS8H3ab. The teacher will use a slide presentation to teach the material. Students will have a worksheet to complete. After the content has been delivered, the students will use the worksheet to fill-in a chart. The students will spend 2 days working to complete an interactive activity (find this in Google Classroom) that will lead them through discovering our country’s first government and analyzing the reasons it failed. They will continue (day2) on to discover how a meeting to correct the issues led to an entirely different form of government. The activity will be completed using chromebooks.
