I can evaluate the purpose and the economic impact of the Bell Bomber Plant, military bases, and the Savannah and Brunswick shipyards. I can explain the economic and military contributions of Richard Russell and Carl Vinson.


I know that I have it when I can...explain how technology transformed agriculture and created a population shift. I can explain how the development of Atlanta under mayors William Hartsfield and Ivan Allen impacted the state. I can describe the relationship between the end of the white primary and the 1946 governor’s race.

Activity or Assignment with Text/Links

Students will use their quiz results to complete a quiz analysis (self-assessment) activity. They will document the answers they got wrong on an analysis sheet.


After that, the students may play Gimkit as a review for the test.

The students will take a test today over WWII and post-WWII eras in Georgia.

The students will read “Challenging Segregation in Education” and “Avoiding Compliance with the Law” on pages 451-453 in the textbook. They will complete a comprehension/notes activity.


The teacher will use a slide presentation to teach the material. 


Students summarize by thinking together to answer a question at the end of each section.


Students will use chromebooks to watch videos and/or read articles about MLK, SCLC,  and the March on Washington. They will complete activities related to each topic.
