Activity or Assignment with Text/Links

The students will complete a notes activity which will require them to read to learn. The teacher will use slides to follow up each section of information. This lesson will conclude on Tuesday.

After completing the activity from yesterday, students will complete an activity to analyze the information on a deeper level.

*Quiz tomorrow

The teacher will lead the students through a review of the material listed in the success criteria.  After that, the students will take a quiz.

Students will complete an ACHIEVE article entitled: A Man of Courage. Here is a brief synopsis of the article - In 1873, a new professor arrived at the University of South Carolina. The university had many professors, but Richard Theodore Greener was unusual—he was an African-American man with an esteemed teaching position in the South not long after the Civil War—and slavery—had come to an end.

Students will complete a comprehension activity using the information on the worksheet, and a slide presentation.
