| INTRODUCTION/CONNECTION: What day are we getting to ready to celebrate on Oct. 12th? Columbus Day in America! But did you know that Mexico celebrates Columbus Day in a different way? |

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION: Students will compare the similarities and differences between these two important dates. Advanced students will support their opinion of which is more important and why. |
