Teacher: Gainous/Walker

Unit/Session: Ecological Interactions Test

Date of Instruction:  4/19

Standard/s:  S7L4. Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information to examine the interdependence of organisms with one another and their environments.

a. Construct an explanation for the patterns of interactions observed in different ecosystems in terms of the relationships among and between organisms and abiotic components of the ecosystem. (Clarification statement: The interactions include, but are not limited to, predator-prey relationships, competition, mutualism, parasitism, and commensalism.)

Learning Target/ Teaching Point:

  1. I can identify animal adaptations and understand the purpose of how it helps an organism survive.

  2. I can identify and explain the different ways that organisms interact with one another.

  3. I can describe how biotic and abiotic factors interact in an ecosystem.

Success Criteria:

  • identify each structural and behavioral adaptations.

  • create an animal including different adaptations.

  • explain how each type of adaptation helps organisms survive.

  • explain and give an example of predation and competition

  • given a limiting factor, identify its effect on a population

  • explain carrying capacity

  • explain and give an example of mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism.
