Describe the instructional process that will be used to introduce the lesson. TKES 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10 | INTRODUCTION/CONNECTION: Do you remember learning fun finger/puppet activities (Here is the church, here is the steeple, open the doors and see all the people), and we will learn a famous interactive poem.

DIRECT INSTRUCTION: Show students poem and go over lyrics line by line, pronouncing words clearly and go over meanings. VIDEO: 5 Little Monkeys

TKES 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10 | GUIDED PRACTICE: Once I have gone over the song and explained the meaning of the words, students will join in speaking and translating. They will practice. |
INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION: Students will repeat poem on their own and complete a comprehension activity on the meaning of the verbs that will be used over and over during the quarter. |
