INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION: Biotic vs Abiotic Card Sort: Students are given cards with various pictures and must sort them as biotic or abiotic. After a class discussion of characteristics of living things, students record their objects in a t-chart in their notebooks.
