Success Criteria: Students are successful when they can answer multiple choice and short answer and open-ended responses with 80% accuracy. |

| INTRODUCTION/CONNECTION: Why do you think it’s important to work independently in the lab bi-monthly or weekly? Learning a language is a luxury with a teacher at the helm, and it is also important to become independent learners. It takes an average of 7 years to become sufficiently fluent in a language, and the only way to get there is to work hard and spend time independent of the teacher practicing. |
DIRECT INSTRUCTION: You took this test together as a class the 5th week of school and now you get to show what you know . . . by yourself! Haz lo siguiente/Do the following: 1) Voces (class ID is vocesu44471 and then user ID is your 5 digit PIN #) - do Actividades/Activities 1 (Weather and Seasons) & 4 (Asociaciones/Associations) 2) Duolingo (You have to sign up with the class code - on board) - do Introduction & Common Phrases assignments 3) Senor Wooly (You have to sign up with the class code - on board) - watch and listen to "Guapo" (6th grade) and “No Voy a Levantarme” (7th grade) and do two (2) nuggets.

| GUIDED PRACTICE: Teacher says, “You have been prepared for working independently. Using CHAMPS’s Help signal to me when you need my assistance.” Teacher will view the student responses on the website and assist when needed. |
INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION: Students will work on the Voces website.
