DIRECT INSTRUCTION:
Review the animal kingdom and each category of invertebrates and vertebrates. Display each category of animals and assign groups to the class. Students will complete a 2-3 person group project on different families/phylums of the animal kingdom. |
Work Period (We Do, You Do) Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations. Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period. TKES 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7. 8,10
| GUIDED PRACTICE: Students will receive a guided worksheet that will explain what to research. Using this, students will collaborate to create a google slideshow presentation on their chosen animal category.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION: Groups will work together researching information on their animal category and will display their findings via google slideshow. |
