| INTRODUCTION/CONNECTION: Why do you think it’s important to work independently in the lab bi-monthly or weekly? Learning a language is a luxury with a teacher at the helm, and it is also important to become independent learners. It takes an average of 7 years to become sufficiently fluent in a language, and the only way to get there is to work hard and spend time independent of the teacher practicing. |
DIRECT INSTRUCTION: Today is your End-of-Unit Assessment day since you have read many (if not all) stories from Unit 2. Do the following: Write íMi historia original! Record your original story in Voces. Complete 5 of the 6 Integrated Performance Assessments, which include:

| GUIDED PRACTICE: Teacher says, “You have been prepared for working independently. Using CHAMPS’s Help signal to me when you need my assistance.” Teacher will view the student responses on the website and assist when needed. |
