Learning Target/ Teaching Point: 

I can describe the five different outcomes that could happen when a wave interacts with an object.


And


I can describe how the density of different media affects the speed of sound and light waves differently.

Success Criteria: 

  • Define transmission, refraction, reflection, absorption, and diffraction in less than three words

  • Draw what a wave will do in each type of interaction.

  • Explain how you see color based on reflection and absorption

  • Recall the definition for medium

  • Describe what generally happens to the speed of sound waves in a more dense medium

  • Describe what generally happens to the speed of light waves in a more dense medium

Students will be directed to the quizlet platform in order to prepare for the vocabulary quiz.

GUIDED PRACTICE:   

We will review the difference between different densities as well the 10 vocabulary terms prior to the quiz.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:


Students will complete the vocabulary quiz on a Google Form.
