Unit/Session: Human Body Systems Movie 

Date of Instruction:  April 1st, 2021

Standard/s:  S7L2  Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information to describe how cell structures, cells,

tissues, organs, and organ systems interact to maintain the basic needs of organisms. 

c. Construct an argument that systems of the body (Cardiovascular, Excretory, Digestive, Respiratory, Muscular, Nervous, and Immune) interact with one another to carry out life processes.

Learning Target: 
-I can describe how different organ systems interact with one another to carry out life processes.  

Success Criteria:

-I can identify the organs and functions of the following systems: circulatory, respiratory, digestive, excretory/urinary, integumentary, immune, skeletal muscular, and nervous

-Understand how the body systems  work with each other as a system to keep the human body functioning

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:  Video

Introduce the movie for the next two days (Osmosis Jones) By explaining why we are watching it and how it relates to the human body. Distribute the assignment that will partner with the movie and explain to students how to complete the assignment while watching the movie. Students will have a choice board in which they will have to choose particular activities to complete.

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

GUIDED PRACTICE: 


INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

While watching the movie, students will complete their choice board assignments. 


Periodically, the teacher will pause the movie and review certain topics that correlate with the human body.

Describe the instructional process that will be used to close the lesson and check for student understanding .
