Learning Target/ Teaching Point: Describe the role of Georgia in WWII. Evaluate key post-World War II developments in Georgia.


Success Criteria:  I know that I have it when I can...describe the Lend-Lease Act and the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I can evaluate the purpose and the economic impact of the Bell Bomber Plant, military bases, and the Savannah and Brunswick shipyards. I can explain the economic and military contributions of Richard Russell and Carl Vinson.


I know that I have it when I can...explain how technology transformed agriculture and created a population shift. I can explain how the development of Atlanta under mayors William Hartsfield and Ivan Allen impacted the state. I can describe the relationship between the end of the white primary and the 1946 governor’s race.
