DIRECT INSTRUCTION: I will present a Slideshow of the celebration called San Fermín that takes place in Pamplona, Navarra in Spain from noon July 6th to midnight July 14th. It originally was to celebrate the martyrdom of Saint Fermín. Fireworks start off the celebration and then ends with the song “Pobre de mi/Poor me.” The running of the bulls is the most popular part of the celebration. Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises popularized this celebration. I will read, discuss, and ask questions. Students will translate and answer questions about the slides.
