Date of Instruction:  December 8th, 2021

Standard/s:  S7L2  Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information to describe how cell structures, cells,

tissues, organs, and organ systems interact to maintain the basic needs of organisms. 

c. Construct an argument that systems of the body (Cardiovascular, Excretory, Digestive, Respiratory, Muscular, Nervous, and Immune) interact with one another to carry out life processes.

Learning Target: 
-I can describe how different organ systems interact with one another to carry out life processes.  

Success Criteria:

-I can identify function and organs within the immune system.

-Understand how the body systems work with each other as a system to keep the human body functioning. 

Opening (I Do)

An engaging process for lesson introduction that is specifically planned to encourage equitable and purposeful student participation. Describe the instructional process that will be used to introduce the lesson.

INTRODUCTION/CONNECTION:

DIRECT INSTRUCTION: Video


Introduce the Human Body Project and distribute rubrics. 

Work Period  (We Do, You Do)

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

TKES 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7. 8,10


GUIDED PRACTICE: 


Go over the rubric and make sure students understand what to do and how to make the best possible grade. Assign groups and allow students to research their body system. 

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Students will complete a teenbiz article called, “Germs at Home”


Students will then work together in groups on their project.

Describe the instructional process that will be used to close the lesson and check for student understanding .
