Learning Target/ Teaching Point: Explain why the Cherokee believe that they should be allowed to send a delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Success Criteria: I know I have it when I can explain the history of the Cherokee in regards to the Treaty of New Echota and the Trail of Tears, and how this pertains to the Cherokee having a delegate in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Opening (I Do)	INTRODUCTION/CONNECTION: Introduce the TeenBiz article: Fulfilling a Promise Discuss the before reading poll. Ask: Should Native Americans be allowed to send a delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives to speak for their tribes?
	Direct Instruction (click link for video): There will be no direct instruction today.
Work Period (We Do, You Do)	GUIDED PRACTICE: The teacher will guide the students through the instructions about the TeenBiz expectations. Discuss the thought question.
