Learning a language is a luxury with a teacher at the helm, and it is also important to become independent learners. It takes an average of 7 years to become sufficiently fluent in a language, and the only way to get there is to work hard and spend time independent of the teacher practicing. DIRECT INSTRUCTION: Teacher says, “You have practiced with story-asking, PQA, and reading during regular class. Now you are ready to work more independently. Go to Chapter 2 Guatemala and do following: 1) Open two voces screens so you have the lesson on one side and the activities on the other side. Read and listen to the lessons on Classroom, Gender & Nouns, Indefinite/Definite Articles, and Hay. 2) Do Activities/Actividades (with the lessons open on the other side) #s 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 & 9. 3) Do Materiales Autenticos #s 1, 2 & 3. 4) If you finish everything early, you may work on your Todo Sobre Me/All About Me project. VIDEO: Work Period (We Do, You Do) Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations. Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.
