| INTRODUCTION/CONNECTION: Do you think sports are important in America/U.S.? ABSOLUTELY!! Which sports do you think are most important? (football, basketball, baseball). Sports are also important in other countries. Certain sports differ in popularity in Hispanic countries.

| GUIDED PRACTICE: I will stop and ask individual students and the class as a whole questions about the sports in different Hispanic countries. |
INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION: Students will draw a picture of one interesting fact they learned throughout the presentation.

| SUMMARIZE/CHECK FOR UNDERSTANDING: Students will take a comprehension quiz on sports in Hispanic countries.
Formative Assessment: All throughout I will check on their comprehension by asking yes/no, either/or, or question-word questions. |
Homework | Students will relate to their parents at least two interesting facts they learned about sports in Spanish countries. |
