Learning Target: Today I am learning to notice parts of characters that are less likeable.

Success Criteria: I can identify a character’s less likeable sides.


Please watch the video and think about the main characters we've encountered so far.  Will and Harry both have positive and negative character traits.  After watching the video and looking at the handouts, think about the main character of the book or short story you are reading now.  Come up with 2-3 positive and 2-3 negative traits for your main character and jot them in your notebook.  Make sure you have evidence for each trait.  If you complete that AND draw a picture of your character, I'll give you extra credit;-)  As always, remember to put the date (9/8/21) by your work, so I'll know how to give you credit. 


There is nothing to submit for this assignment; I'll grade notebooks when we're back.

After watching the video, read for 30 minutes and create a notebook entry about your character.  Include the character's name, the author and title of the novel or short story, and today's date (9/9/21).  Then list the 1 or 2 most important traits that belong to your character and explain why.  Remember, if you are not near the end, you should make a prediction about which trait is the most important and explain why.

Please watch the video first. Even though we will not be able to work with partners today, Mrs. Hodge still shares some valuable information.  Then, use your novel or a short story provided under the topic "Short Stories" to complete the attached assignment.  Good luck!
