Gainous Science 6th Period-FY Assignments

Please complete each of the following lab stations using your notes on page 40. You will need headphones for the watch it station.

The directions with examples are posted with this assignment. This assignment can be completed on poster or on google classroom.

Due date: Mar 11, 2022 -- Topics: Ecosystems -- Features: Movie, Quiz

Students, you will choose your own group (2-3 per group) and will then choose a classification of animals to research. Make sure one of you share the presentation with your partners so you can work on the same slideshow together. 


Using the PDF file attached to this assignment, you will research the ideas found on the research paper. 


Using these ideas, you will create a google slideshow on your research. I have attached the google slides for you to type your information in. Everything you need will be found on your research paper, included recommended websites along with presentation ideas. 


You and your partner(s) will divide up the work evenly and will work on this project for 3 days. The due date is Wednesday 2/2. 


** If you are out of class for the next couple of days for any reason, you will complete this research project individually. If you are working at home, you may split your research topics in half. You do not have to do all ideas, only half. Please email me or comment on this assignment if you have any questions.

You will choose a plant species you want to research and know more about. Once you've chosen a species, you will complete research on the plant using the guidelines provided in the attached document. Once you have gathered all your information about your plant species, you will either create a wanted ad poster or create a google doc wanted ad. If you choose to complete this online, use the google doc provided in the assignment along with the guidelines and rubric. Please have this assignment submitted by 1/28

Today you will be creating an Instagram account based on a species of bacteria. You will be given a hard copy to complete in class. Please use this google doc to look at the directions for the assignment. There is another doc attached to this assignment that is a "cheat sheet" and will help you with finding your information on a particular species of bacteria.

Sign into Gizmo through clever. Go to your class period and select the Dichotomous Keys assignment. Next, click on the google doc attached to this assignment. Please read through the directions and complete each question. The last page (Page 5) is EXTRA CREDIT ONLY. This is 10 points to your overall grade if completed. Each page completed is 25 points toward your overall grade.

Using your resources, your job is to identify the organelle and type in the correct answer in the google form. Please use the Cell Presentation slideshow I've attached to help you with your work.

You have two pages worth of reading material on the scientist who laid the foundation of our understanding on cells. Please read through this passage and answer the questions in complete sentences. The video attached will go into detail on how to complete today's assignment.

When you've finished your research, you will place all of your information in the google slideshow attached below. Please make sure you insert your profession in the parenthese shown in the slideshow. Do not forget to add pictures as well!
